ACLM uses a tiered certification model that assesses schools along three dimensions:
- Instructional Hours: Total hours devoted to LM topics.
- Competency Coverage: Percentage of ACLM’s UME LM competencies addressed.
- Enrichment: Presence of LMIGs, electives, student research, clinical application, and more.
The four certification levels are:
- Bronze / Bronze Plus
- Silver / Silver Plus
- Gold / Gold Plus
- Platinum / Platinum Plus
These tiers help distinguish institutions based on depth of integration and innovation. Specific criteria are outlined in the Curriculum Certification Guide.
