Students can engage in lifestyle medicine by:
- Joining ACLM: Become a member of ACLM as a student, resident or fellow trainee for only $55 per year. ACLM student, resident or fellow trainee members gain access to all ACLM member benefits.
- Joining or starting a Lifestyle Medicine Interest Group (LMIG): LMIGs are trainee-led groups that promote lifestyle medicine principles on campus and in the community. They host events, workshops, and discussions to educate peers and advocate for healthier lifestyles.
- Applying for scholarships and grants: ACLM offers various funding opportunities, such as the "A Taste of Lifestyle Medicine" micro-grant, which provides up to $500 to support plant-based educational events. Additionally, there are conference scholarships and research grants available for students, residents and fellow trainees.
- Attending ACLM’s annual conference: Student, resident and fellow trainee members can receive a discount or virtual scholarship to attend ACLM’s conference.
- Utilizing curriculum tools and resources: ACLM provides ready-to-use curricular materials that student, residents and fellow trainees can share with faculty to integrate lifestyle medicine into their program.
- Networking opportunities: ACLM members have access to a community of professionals and peers passionate about lifestyle medicine.
- Following ACLM and ACLM Trainees on social media: Stay connected with ACLM and the Student and Trainee Executive Board by following @aclifemed and @aclmtrainees on social media.
- Listening to Next Gen LM: Mentorship in Medicine Podcast: Learn from ACLM’s Student and Trainee Executive Board through interviews with lifestyle medicine experts about their journey to practicing lifestyle medicine.
